START WITH YOUR REQUIREMENTS

A clear brief helps
create a consistent finish.

Powder coating brings colour and a protective finish to metal components. Before asking for a quotation, identify the substrate, the parts to be coated, the desired appearance and the conditions the finished components will face.

1. Identify the material and components

Tell the coating team whether the parts are aluminium, steel, or a mixture. Include component dimensions, quantities and drawings where available. For architectural work, identify the profiles, panels, frames, louvers or fabricated assemblies in the package.

2. Define the colour and surface character

Share your colour code or an approved reference sample. Discuss gloss, satin, matte, textured or metallic finishes with the team. The final choice depends on the selected powder system, availability and project specification.

3. Describe the intended application

Explain whether the components are for interior, exterior, architectural or industrial use. Share the project coating specification and any required approval documents or inspection requirements. The team can then discuss the suitable preparation and finish for your brief.

4. Understand the workflow

Parts are cleaned, rinsed and treated using a compatible chemical pre-treatment before drying. Electrostatic powder application is followed by thermal curing under the conditions specified for the selected powder. Inspection and protective packing complete the workflow.

5. Confirm inspection and handover

Discuss appearance, colour comparison, coating thickness and any specified performance checks. Confirm delivery timing and the packing or handling requirements for the finished components. The inspection method should follow the agreed project requirement.
